You can’t have a full collection of mindless liberal ranting without the always valuable input of MSNBC’s merry cast of morons. As it became clear late on election night that Donald Trump had once again shocked the liberal world by winning the presidency, Joy Reid, with her trademark condescension, noted that we must ask what it says about us as a country that we would elect this man into office.
Well, Joy, let me help you out. The list is long, probably a good bit more than you can comprehend in one sitting, so I will break it into multiple posts. But here are a few of the reasons why over half of the country refused to bow to the risk of cancel culture and the hate-filled, incendiary language of the likes of you.
In short, we voted for Trump because we are are shocked and furious over what the left has done over the past four, long, horrifying years.
We are shocked and furious that Democrats have crossed a line previously reserved for communist and totalitarian regimes by using the criminal justice “system” to criminally prosecute your political opponent. As a seasoned attorney who has seen my share of local politics and home cooking, I still cannot BELIEVE what I watched unfold in New York alone, with these smug, sanctimonious, but above all, Trump-hating judges allowing completely insane “cases” to be taken to trial against a former president. We remain shocked that Judge Merchan allowed a Soros-backed D.A., with the help of a former US attorney from Biden’s “Justice Department,” to create an absurd criminal case out of whole cloth and to permit it to be tried over multiple weeks (with no monitoring courtroom cameras, mind you), and with enough violations of basic constitutional rights to make a first year law student blush. We are outraged that any judge would allow not only such a bogus case to proceed, but that he would allow rank overcharging to allege, and somehow prevail on, 34 separate, equally absurd counts.
We remain shocked that Judge Engeron entered a $355 million penalty in a victim-less “fraud” case that was devoid of essential prima facie elements (e.g., detrimental reliance, actual damages), all in an effort to punish a candidate he personally hates and, hopefully, to bankrupt him at the same time.
We remain shocked and furious at the appalling double standard of these ridiculous legal machinations. We are sickened that our tax dollars have been expended pursuing a federal prosecution against a former president for possession of “classified documents,” but when Joe Biden was confirmed to have committed the same offense, it was swiftly swept away. No prosecution necessary. Why? Because a jury would merely see him as a helplessly old, forgetful man. Not so old and forgetful as to be denied access to the nation’s nuclear codes, mind you. Not so old and forgetful as to be removed from office. And certainly not so old and forgetful that he should be denied his party’s nomination for reelection. Oh, and before I leave this particular subject, we remain shocked that Merrick Garland simply defied a Congressional subpoena for the videotape of the deposition in which our sitting president appeared so helplessly forgetful but won’t ever be prosecuted for his contempt.
And , Joy, we remain shocked and furious that your other pal, Hillary Clinton, was found to have had a computer loaded with classified information, yet no prosecution was warranted there because, under the esteemed opinion of one Jim Comey, “No reasonable jury would convict her.” She was just “extremely careless” after all.
Yes, Joy, we are shocked and furious by the number of times that your phony party parroted the tired line “No one is above the law,” while concomitantly making a mockery of the notion of equal justice.
We are also shocked and furious, Dear Joy, by the Democrats’ use of the administrative state as another tool of fear and revenge, with AG Merrick Garland serving as the poster boy. We are shocked that elderly people who merely walked into the U.S. Capitol on January 6 have been prosecuted and jailed in mass, while the people who made rioting great again throughout 2020, causing billions of dollars in damages, went untouched. Indeed, many were bailed out and heralded at the urging of your hero Kamala Harris - do you remember that, Joy? We are fed up by a Justice Department that arrested Christians for praying at abortion mills and monitored school board meetings while doing nothing to the criminals who attacked pro-life pregnancy centers. I’m sorry, Joy, but Mr. Garland’s explanation that it is too hard to catch the people who BOMB these places because they tend to commit their crimes at night does not satisfy us.
We are also shocked and furious at how your party sacrificed national security by eliminating border security and allowing over 10 million aliens to flood the country. And we are furious at how your party openly lied about its participation in this travesty once it came time to pay the piper in an election year. So let me remind you, Joy, of what upset us there.
Your hero, Joe Biden, rescinded Donald Trumps’ executive orders that fixed this problem on the first day of his presidency. He also halted construction of the border wall, which his sidekick Kamala labelled a Trump vanity project, and proudly stood by his campaign promise of “Not another foot” of wall construction. Only after the entirely foreseeable resulting crime began to mount did your party propose a bill to address immigration, a bill that itself would grant amnesty to thousands of the invaders each month. And so when that bill was rightly rejected, the immigration mess was suddenly the Republicans’ fault — as if Biden could not simply reinstitute the executive orders that had worked so well.
We remain shocked and furious by these things, Joy. And there are many, many more that I will explain to you shortly.
